Jyve was written for a very very early version of Turbine - version 1.1a is the latest
I use, I think.

Jyve got really out of step with Turbine because few people were interested in the
software.
I'm still keen about it because I look after three systems which use it -
(four if you count the apache.org one)

It is the main software behind my book reviews website http://www.DiverseBooks.com/
which actually works! (Only the sections which say FAQ Style Archive are based on Jyve.
The rest is based on Slash - plus there is an installation of Jetspeed too which will
get phased out until I have time to look at the next release).

HOWEVER most sites have problems with sending password emails, or problems with
permissions.
It sounds like you have a problem with Jyve expecting a different set of permission
capabilities to that which Turbine currently offers....

A few months ago: In steps nice person (not me) who takes the Jyve code and starts
to convert it to work with the latest version of turbine. This may or may not be
complete
or ready for use. I promised to help - and never found the time :-(
If you like you can subscribe to the (very quiet) jyve mailing list, download jyve
from CVS and try to install it -

Do not however expect a fully tested released package which you can use
without problems.

What version of jyve are you using? where did you get it from?
