Title: RE: generation of vm templates from the database schema

Hi I am another interested individual with equal needs for my
Turbine application.  Web based interaction with MYSQL via templates.

I am running Linux/Apache/TDK-2.1/MYSQL-3.22.32 on a server and
my browser is on a Windows box across the network.

I am a newbie... Turbine for about 8 months.  I have modified the
example application, but have not made too much headway, except
to modify templates and create new links.  I am using Turbine for
the "Dynamic" pages and Apache for the "Static".

I would like to join a group that is more about creating an application
then creating the framework per se.  I realize that these have some common
ground, but I am finding little help in the way of an example application
to expand on or modify, especially where a browser/database interaction
among personal tables and databases are involved. Java is not my first language.

I have never used CVS ... I am a good study however and if that is where the
development has to be... I can keep pace with a little assistance.

Please advise if you could use another participant.

 Thanks

        No, not a long time

I learned velocity to work with turbine (6 months ago), and then
learned texen to modify torque. Torque seemed to be very complex before
I understood Texen.
Velocity is the best template engine I've ever found. Before using Java
Servlets I was developing using PHP/PHPLIB. PHPLIB has a "template
engine" but it makes me sick to remember developing with PHP.
IMHO velocity is the best thing you can get if you paln to use Java
based tecnologies !
