In many ways, I am not happy with my user..  Basically I ended up replacing
the entire security/user code base.  Thank god for open source!  The two
things that set me down on this path was that my users don't have passwords.
And that I had an existing EMPLOYEE's table.  I mostly put it out as an
idea, not as a definitive way of doing things..  That is why I am awaiting
anxiously the outcome of the new security setup being discussed.  As well as
simplfying and making more pluggable the user code.

I didn't look at your code, but it seems like you had to update
way too many classes to achieve your desired result.

The extend-user-howto method works really well.  The problem
described half way down can be resolved by hacking
WEB-INF/build/bin/torque/templates/om/Object.vm
to allow your TurbineUserAlias through one of the #if
statements.  I'll try and patch the howto today with the
exact details.
