You can download a trial version for Linux from
http://www.sybase.com/detail?id=1010213
This is the slightly old version 11.x
There is a download page for version 12.x but it appears to be broken:

I too would love better support for Sybase as it is the most popular
database used in the financial industry (in my limited experience).

When I tried to install Jyve on it around a year ago I had problems because
it was case sensitive when the code wasn't.
This may be cured now.... (I ended up installing MySQL but that was
definitely frowned upon since MySQL wasn't supported by the DBAs)

(Sybase is optionally case sensitive - you can set it up to not be)

Thanks!!!
