I think the subject says sql 7... I had to do some work recently to talk to sql 7, and ended up downloading the jdbc driver from BEA systems website. The trial limits to 3 connections for 30 days, but it is a solid driver if you need it... not sure how much it costs though.
ms only has jdbc drivers supported for sql server 2000 and greater last time i checked.
