November 2003 The three hour session (which is a stripped down version of a two day workshop called "Introduction to the Jakarta Turbine Framework" [1]) covers the following Turbine aspects - Getting started with Turbine - Turbine Speak: Service, Tool, Module, Action, Screen, Page, Layout - To TDK or not to TDK? - Application Design. Where to put the Model, View and Controller - Using Velocity Templates and Pull Tools - Input Validation - User Authentication and Security - Database peers with Torque - Turbine and JSPs and has a few sidetracks into services like Session Service, Pool Service, Templating Service and so on.
