Hi,

as you all might know in the meantime, there will be a three hour
tutorial at ApacheCon 2003 in Las Vegas about Turbine:

T11: Writing a web application with Jakarta Turbine 2.3

held by yours truly on Sunday afternoon, 16. November 2003

The three hour session (which is a stripped down version of a two day
workshop called "Introduction to the Jakarta Turbine Framework" [1])
covers the following Turbine aspects

- Getting started with Turbine
- Turbine Speak: Service, Tool, Module, Action, Screen, Page, Layout
- To TDK or not to TDK?
- Application Design. Where to put the Model, View and Controller
- Using Velocity Templates and Pull Tools
- Input Validation
- User Authentication and Security
- Database peers with Torque
- Turbine and JSPs

and has a few sidetracks into services like Session Service, Pool
Service, Templating Service and so on.

Everything will be shown with a sample application (a configureable and
extendable guest book).

If you plan to go to ApacheCon and think about attending this tutorial,
please register for it on http://www.apachecon.com

        Regards
                Henning
