This is not just FUD but BS.

Of course, all Tomcat versions beyond 4.0.x support servlet spec 2.2
and better.

Tomcat versions post-3 require that you have a correct web.xml with
servlet mapping and URI mapping set up while Tomcat 3 (!) lets you get
away without this (having the default /servlet/ stuff) and tomcat 4
allows you to somehow activate this (deprecated since about 1000
years) feature.

Please stop spreading wrong information. All Turbine versions from 2.1
to 2.4-Mx run _fine_ under all versions of Tomcat 4 and Tomcat 5.
