Hi, although this question is geared more for the jetspeed list I
posted it to both jetspeed and turbine since it involves both packages
:-)

I am in the process of developing an ecommerce app with turbine. My app
will be using xml to pass information over the internet between two
applications via various protocols (ftp, http, smtp etc). So I will not
need to use the data transfer or diskcache parts of jetspeed.

However, I did have some interest in the CocoonPortlet and
CocoonRenderer. I will have certain areas of the application where I
will have to display data stored in xml format and I really want to use
cocoon for this.

It seems that if I only need to use the CocoonPortlet/Renderer I would
be using a very small portion of Jetspeed but yet I would have to deal
with the overhead and configuration of a Turbine+Jetspeed application.
So I was thinking about just impementing the CocoonPortlet/Renderer code
directly within Turbine.

However, I have not spent much time in jetspeed yet so I may be missing
something so I am asking for thoughts/comments to the following
question:

Do I really need all of jetspeeds functionality or should I just
implement the Cocoon stuff directly within turbine?

Thanks for any feedback,
John Thorhauer
