Nissim is looking at having the capability to parse parameter names that
embed an ID, which would allow this.

Sure, I just can't be bothered to find one... but I guess I'll go and
look.

The impression I got is that it was just too far away from actually
solving real problems now. The code I looked at was elegant, but very
limited in functionality, and with no clear hooks to customise the look
of pages.  Web design is fundementally different from conventional GUI
design (and I know, I do both). I think the requirements on web design
make having a template system vastly preferable to have an entirely
programmatic widget system.

This is all IMHO of course though, feel free to check out SPFC and if
you see it doing what you want - cool!
