ok,
I've thrown together the first iteration on the original idea for the
Turbine logo:

(originals are now under turbine/1.0)

* I've fixed the spacing between the "r" and "b", which was a bit tight in
the first version.

* I tried to lighten the solid colours of the original glyph by introducing
slight gradients. The result maintains the simplicity of the original, but
adds a new level of complexity which is visually pleasing. Two different
techniques were used for 1_gradient and 2_gradient (I'm very happy with 1).
I've also included the original Photoshop documents, in case anyone wants to
play around with it.

* I've included coloured variations of the new glyph using different
techniques. I'm particularily fond of 1_indigo :)

* I tried out the 'fire' colours, red and orange. fire1 and fire2 are just
poorly done. fire3 and fire4 are somewhat cool, though I'm sure someone
will come up with even cooler colour combinations (fire.psd is the Photoshop
source).

* 1_small is a small version of the logo, just to show how it will look at a
small size. That said, it may be wiser to use the solid glyph at very small
sizes to maintain clarity.

Feedback is desired,
