I am agree with you, furthermore:
We are currently using Cocoon (with a little additional layer). It seems
very cool since we usually do not do the Web design by ourselves. Indeed
we recieve HTML files because it is the most common tool used by Web
designer.
Our idea is:
Get HTML -> Transform to XSL+XML -> use Cocoon to get HTML back.
Pros:
- flexible
- Standard.
- easy to create Multilingual sites (this is on of our main requirement
here in Europe)
cons:
- AFAIK it is hard to define "reusable compomnents". Think of an address
for instance: this is always the same set of INPUT box for each
applications. But we have to code it again and again. But there is may
be a "xsl:include" tag. (I am a XSL newbie, sorry).
- It is somewhat difficult to read and to create a correct XSL file. We
tried to use Excelon Stylus, but this is not that easy/cool as we want.
And I do not think our Web designer will be XSL/XML gurus soon.
