because the JVM support on freebsd sucks balls. java is only as good as the
jvm it is run under.
also, that machine receives around 1.5 million hits/day. the load average is
usually fairly high although, brian has recently fixed a lot of the issues
(bad disk drive).
also, mysqld on that machine hasn't been tuned at all.
yes, we are working on it, but it takes time.
