Hmmm, weird. I'm using the same script, and it's working just as I'd expect. Can
you do a diff between the logcvs.pl from working-dogs.com and your
locally-modified logcvs.pl?

How many entries do you have in $CVSROOT/CVSROOT/commitlog? It sounds like you
have two:
DEFAULT (echo ""; id; echo %s; date; cat) >> $CVSROOT/CVSROOT/commitlog
DEFAULT $CVSROOT/CVSROOT/logcvs.pl -u $USER %s
If so, the first entry should be commented-out.
