Short Description:
------------------
The community site being developed will gather in excess of 20.000
users. The site will offer extensive community building features and
services. The important part of the offering will be strong editorial
content, contributed by site?s staff, as well as large number of
freelance contributors working over the Internet. Live data feeds with
relevant news will add to site?s continuous freshness. All users of the
site can possibly contribute smaller amounts of content to the site -
such contributions will always be subject to editorial approval.
Data about users will be tracked in detail in order to offer ever more
personalized and better-targeted services.
The content will be in three languages: English, German and French, with
many segments of editorial being featured in all three languages.
In order to secure quick time to market, first version of the site will
extensively outsource its functions to different ASP, and buy and
implement other parts of the system from out-of-the box components.

Tool Features
--------------
The tool must be able to support at least 20.000 users.
The expected rate of content production is about 40.000 documents per
year.
       Multiple Languages Support for Content
        ------------------
The tool should provide the way to reference versions of the same
document in different languages.
       Indexing and Searching of Contents
        -----------------------------------
The tool must provide the mechanisms for user searches through content
of the content store and references to external contents.
It should be possible to limit the search scope for different user
categories.
What content profiling / access control features does the tool
support?
        -----------------
The administrator of the tool must be able to restrict access to content
based on access control list.
The administrator can be a non-technical person.
Granularity of control shall be at least on content group (folder)
level.
       Live Feed Support
        -----------------
The tool must provide the way to store live data feeds into content
store.
       Workflow Support
        -----------------
The tool must provide a workflow feature particularly suited for
editorial content publishing needs.

success factor.

personalization from day one is an important strategic direction that
this site needs to pursue.
Implementation & Integration
What is the recommended hardware and software configuration to support
above-mentioned number of users and amount of content?
What is the expected implementation timeframe for our configuration,
provided that all prerequisites are in place and operational?
What applications and vendors does your tool support out-of-the box?
In what way does the tool support integration with ASP-hosted
applications?
Our community site will outsource certain features and business
