Hey all,

I have worked for the last month or so on a little tool called Noodle. It is
a transparent HTTP proxy with the ability to add customized filters done as
a servlet. Anyway, it is now ready for release...

<http://noodle.tigris.org/>

Essentially, you can use this code to wrap say a third party Perl CGI within
your own look and feel.

If you are using Turbine, you can take the code out of the Noodle.java class
and put that into a Turbine Screen. Then mix that with a couple clever
mod_rewrite rules and instantly, you can have something like Bugzilla
wrapped in your own look and feel of your website. You also have the ability
to modify (via filters) the incoming and outgoing request and data.

Future applications of this could be to do a transparent caching proxy as
well.

Of course this isn't the fastest or cleanest way of doing things, but it
works and that is what we cared about at the time.

have fun!
