I think that getting the MAC adddress under Java is hard to implement because
it's very OS dependend. Aside from that MAC is not good, because your server
can be multihomed (IP aliasing). IP of your server is also not good, because
your Tomcat/Jserv could be running behind an Apache name-based virtual server.
But your URL including schema (http/https) host name (name-based virtuals)
and context (multiple contexts/zones) makes an unique indetifier for your
Turbine instance.
