Basically, it's much faster and easier to get up and running with WM. It's
better publicized, better documented, there are more examples, and it's less
work for the application developer. As John McNally pointed out, FM requires
developers to write adapters for their business objects -- you can't "just stick
it in a hashtable". FM wasn't very intuitive for me, but I liked it a lot once
I got used to it.
It would be nice to know how designers feel about each, since that is a large
factor in web development.

I read that there are now utility classes in Turbine to help WM users generate
time selectors. I wrote FM functions to do the same thing. Neither is
necessarily an MVC violation, but the line between V and C must now be drawn
through the java codebase where WM is concerned. Yuck.
WM allows you to invoke methods in your business objects (right?), so I think
you should switch FM and WM in your diagram. At the very least, they should
occupy the same space.

It moves, albeit slowly. There aren't many FM developers. I myself was about
to do some FM work, but then I noticed Turbine. Oh well, there are only so many
hours in the day.

Its syntax is butt-ugly. :-)
Technically, neither system is better than the other. They solve the same
problem in slightly different ways. So I'm very glad that Turbine doesn't
choose one over the other. I obviously prefer FM, but if you are comfortable
with a tool, and you're producing good work, then stick with it.
