Defeinetely. A service can use ServletConfig to translate paths from
relative inside the context to absolute paths on the server.
Turbine needs refactoring of the logging systems, there was a discussion
about it some time ago, but AFAIK no coding was done. There were voices
to use IBM's log4j package, others to use logging subsystem from Avalon.
I'd personally prefer the second one, because this is an opportunitiy
to cooperate with fellow Jakarta project, and that it was chosen by
Velocity project. Hopefuly those log systems could be integrated

Velocity Turbine
        \ \ files
         \ \ /
Velocity logger -- Turbine Logger -- console
                                  \
                                    Turbine Logger on remote machine
and so on.
