I don't want to make extra philosophy but I think - really - the Apache
Foundation Software is certainly the best open source product on the market
for web app. I think is it more serious than different commercial products
(eg. Sybase and many other). The bigger Turbine advantage is certainly OO
design - That's simply perfect. It is so easy to customize Turbine for its
own plateform. I hope to see/create more and more components based on this
platefrom.

That's clear - It is just the beginning of a new way of working - specially
in Europe when I'm living !

Until now, I see only 2 big issues for an organization which want to
collaborate into this direction with the ASF :

1. "No getting started" documents for the newbies. This is certainly an
important step to do. Thomas/Carol made a big step four us.
2. 'Customer/site' references. I'm trying to convince the European Concilum
to build an enterprise portal based on the ASF. It is not easy to present
the ASF solution without references. Certainly CollabNet and many other are
making good works - but in Europe - It is still difficult to motivate
managers to choose ASF solution.

If you see Mycomponents web site and the associated company XO3 (see on
www.mycomponents.com) will be certainly an important player in this open
market in Europe. The idea is great and they will be certainly a important
reference for companies like mine.

For myself, Enhydra is not interesting because I doesn't work!
It is an immature open source product AND they created visual facilities
(eg. Object mapping, ....) that doesn't work in all conditions. I prefer the
pragmatic vision of ASF. Furthermore the ASf support is certainly better.

In conclusion - A great job was made - in open way and hope that it will
continue !

If you need help for documentation - in french - and promote Turbine,
Jetspeeed, .... in Europe - let me be a ASF master and call me in 3 month to
explain YOUR solution in Europe.
