Hello all!

I'd like to comment a little bit on the new documents that appeared on
our website.

'Peers' document is a good introduction into our O-R mapping layer. It
could use
some more complicated examples of Criteria usage (joins, multiple
conditions,
Criteria.LIKE etc.). A link into example Peer/BO classes (as in Torque
doc) would
be good also. We don't seem to have JavaDocs for Turbine available from
the website,
but if we had, links into classes of interest (Criteria, BasePeer) would
be useful too.

'Torque' document looks really unfinished :). I think that the table
with db schema
at the bottom is not necessary because the xml is really easy to
understand.
The document should include the torque DTD that Jason prepared.
The most important thing that is missing in the document is the actual
description
how to use Torque. What are the configuration files, where to put input
files,
and what command to use to generate the goodies.

'Velocity Context' document is really good. It's a good introduction
into some
concepts important in development of Turbine Applications.
I don't quite like the Image class part. It definitely should not have
hardcoded
path in it, it should become org.apache.turbine.util.template.StaticLink
class
and should be inserted in the context in the same place where
TemplateLink is.
(TurbineVelocityService.getContext).

I was wondering if it would be possible to put a summary of recent
discussions on the
list regarding application servers on our website. It's a good idea to
share this
knowledge among developers, because all of us are faced with questions
about deploying
the applications we create. On the other hand, certain app server
vendors could
feel seriously offended, reading the comments :), and call it unfair
advertising of
competing products. I think that U.S. developers will know better if
it's OK to post
something like that to Turbine web site or not.
