Ok, right off, then you might not want to come here looking for your
solution.

What you seem to not understand is that this is a VOLUNTEER project and we
are working as quickly as we can. We are not here to solve your problems in
a limited time frame. We are here to build quality software over a long time
frame (this project started nearly 3 years ago now) that meets the needs of
a wide range of development needs.

If you are interested in becoming part of the project and helping out and
trying to learn things on your own, then I am interested in you. But, if you
are here to ask question after question and expect us to read what
documentation we do have for you, then this is probably not the right place
for you to be. You might be better off using another framework.

Maybe someday, we will get to the point where Turbine is well documented and
easy for people who can read documentation to get up to speed, but right
now, we are in the middle of making some pretty major changes to Turbine
that has put a lot of our documentation out of date.

We also currently expect a level of developer skill such as the ability to
use CVS and the ability to properly install the tools necessary to work
within Turbine. As it says on the homepage, in the FIRST sentence on the
page:

"Turbine is a servlet based framework that allows experienced Java
developers to quickly build secure web applications."

Key word there is "experienced". Maybe you have experience in Java and
development in other areas, that is fine, but it is up to you to become more
experienced in the ways that we do things if you are going to participate or
get help from the people in this project.

Like I said, we are working hard at improving this process, you can see the
direction we are going in by looking at what we are doing with the TDK by
bundling everything you need to get started and build sample applications
for you. But, you can also see that we are alpha/beta quality software at
best so we EXPECT you to be able to get up to speed on your own by taking
the time to study what we have done and even read the archives of this
mailing list.

I will say that there are plenty of people out there (there are over 460
people on this list) who have invested the time to look at Turbine's
documentation and source code and do understand the concept model and have
gotten things working.

> Where are these CVS archives? Did they come with the TDK?

Sigh, as DOCUMENTED on the Turbine homepage:

"Access to the CVS "turbine" repository is available both online as well as
with a cvs client (it's contained in the turbine-directory)."

There are links to more information.

That document is out of date and you would know that if you looked at the
archives of the mailing list. The TDK is the future of Turbine and that
install document will be deprecated.

Sorry to be so harsh to you, but I want to be honest. I think you are
slightly disillusioned or something.

thanks,
