This isn't the Velocity list. :-)
However, for the first one, it should work fine. You didn't specify what
version of Velocity you are using, but chances are that problem has already
been fixed. Using CVS of Velocity is highly recommended.
For the second problem, that is a known issue that I discovered while doing
Anakia and it is being worked on.
