If you really need to use Turbine on earlier versions of JDK and the
only problem is java.util.* package, you can try CollectionsPackage
from Sun found at
http://java.sun.com/products/javabeans/infobus/index.html#DOWNLOAD_COLLECTIO

(that's just a port of JDK1.2 collections to JDK1.1)
I've not tried it yet, so that's of no guarantee.
