I have looked into this problem a bit, unfortunately without a lot of
luck.
Tomcat (Catalina) of course allows one to specify a context as
reloadable, but to the best of my knowledge, Catalina as configured
in tdk 1.1a10 has no "Turbine" context, and simply relies on the default
context.
It must be the case that the default context doesn't auto-reload. The
weird thing is,
I don't see any significant difference between the settings in prior tdk
versions and the
new one, so maybe Catalina changed in this regard.
I can find no docs on altering the default context properties.
I did discover one thing, though. Using the Manager app built into
Catalina, one can
force a reload without shutting down Catalina.
1) Simply get the Manager app from the latest Catalina and add it to the
tdk/Catalina webapps folder.
2) Add a user with the role "manager" to the file
/tdk-1.1a10/tdk/conf/tomcat-users.xml
3) Invoke http://localhost:8080/manager/reload?path=/appname
4) Enter user/password as in tomcat-users.xml
5) This will force a reload of /appname, but isn't elegant, as the turbine
app
doesn't shut down well and can kick up errors.
6) use at your own risk.
