No the current method ain't that bad - but it is annoying that if you
manually refresh or bookmark the resultant URL things get broken.
I don't think the second redirect is going to take long, you're talking
about a few extra packets. Plus remember it's only the first time a user
hits the servlet in a given session.
Anyway I got two +1s so I've committed the patch. See if you actually
notice the extra redirect :-)
