Well, we have successfuly implemented a hybrid LDAP/DB user manager
(LDAP for authentication, DB for attributes). It's far from being
general, complete and easily comprehensible but it works.

Too bad that I'm totaly swamped in things labeled "URGENT!",
my Master's not being the least important among them... Therefore
I can't give even an aproximate timeframe for rewriting and publishing
our LDAP user manager. If you feel determined to work on it, I'd say
go ahead and take it. It's no rocket science, really. And there are
a few people on this list interested in helping. Post a proposal
and they'll speak up.

PS. You might need to improve the NamingService in turbine to work with
DirContexts, if you want to use it for LDAP.
