The pages are locked down out of a desire to keep the docs in a known
(assumed) good state. Of course, they're not error free, but changes
in comments are almost always incorporated within a day.

Basically, the process is similar to contributing code. Once I'm
confident that you're a good writer and are following the guidelines
-- which usually takes 2-3 weeks of regular contributions -- you
become an editor.
