Hi, I have made major overhaul of pygettext.py/catalog.py modules from turbogears.i18n package to make it work (better) with non-ascii characters. In particular, non-ascii msgids are fine now, in both escaped and un-escaped modes.
I did test it with admi18n and tg-admin tool as well and third-party tools and it seems to work fine. Nevertheless, there is still a possibility that I broke something. The changes should fix #744 ticket along the way (IIUC).
