I recently joined the Jython list so I could put some of my Java skills to good use. Although the team is currently preparing the 2.2beta release, work has already started on the 2.3 release.
There has been a recent surge in interest, and someone mentioned the idea of picking a popular web framework and making it run on Jython as a goal - it will require a great deal of progress, but it will be a compelling goal that is easy to explain to new developers. Even getting some of the libraries that TurboGears uses running on Jython would be helpful to people running on the JVM. So if anyone is interested in pitching in, I'd encourage them to introduce themselves on the Jython mailing list. http://www.jython.org Tim Jorge Vargas wrote: > On 12/8/06, Lee McFadden <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: >> Via Lawouch and fumanchu in #cherrypy: >> >> http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=37366559 >> >> Might be interesting to see if there's anything we can do to assist >> this - it would certainly be a good thing to be the first framework to >> run on Jython. >> > I believe this is the biggest problem > > "Jython 2.1 does not implement any features added to CPython in > version 2.2 or later." > >> Lee >> >> -- >> Lee McFadden >> >> blog: http://www.splee.co.uk >> work: http://fireflisystems.com >> skype: fireflisystems >> > > > -- Timothy Freund http://digital-achievement.com http://edodyssey.com --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TurboGears Trunk" group.
