I just made a few test and it appears to be quite easy to implement. I have a working patch against 1.0 branch for testing, please see http://trac.turbogears.org/ticket/1583 I would really like to see such a feature going into the main stream tg, please comment the idea and the patch so I can make the whole thing good enough.
