I had hoped that we would be in a position to release a TG2 preview
this week, but we had a couple of difficult problems to solve
regarding WebOb integration into Pylons and Python 2.4 compatability.
Ian has integrated some suggested changes into WebOb, and I've
updated all the exception handling in TurboGears and Pylons to work.
(Though I'm not 100% sure when the pylons changes will land in trunk,
I expect it to happen very soon).

That puts us back on a solid footing for TG2 development to move
forward. I've noticed that there aren't any unit tests for the new
validate functionality in TG2 (or for the old features either) and in
general, I think we need more tests before I'll feel really
comfortable with a release.

I would very much like to have something easy_installable by pycon,
but I think that the pylons API is currently in enough flux that
there's really no way that we can have any kind of API freeze until
sometime after the pycon sprints at the very earliest.

I personally have been swamped as I have a very large work project
finishing up over the next two weeks, and we've had several setbacks
(including 5 team member's laptops being stolen in one night from our
office). And I'll be running full tilt on that over the next week or
so.

But I will be taking time to go through all the checkins since the
sprint, and get a good picture of where we are, and give another
update later this week. But my gut feel at this point is that we're
looking at at least another week before we have our first non-feature
complete non-api-stable "release" that we can push out to the
cheeseshop.
