Hi,

I applied to the weMap GSoC project recently and the tasks that I
proposed weighs heavily on wrapping existing widgets from JS toolkits
with ToscaWidgets. I am particularly interested in working with
widgets in Dojo and jQuery.

Christopher Arndt suggested that it will be a good idea for all GSoC
students who are wrapping JS libraries to use the same one (or two).
It would be great if we can get some discussion on which JS library(s)
we should be utilizing this summer. Specifically, I would like input
from people involved with the TwTools project.

In short, my tasks contains developing an interactive datagrid, an
advanced object selector (think SelectShuttle with ordering and
functions attached), and an ajax file uploader.

I cast my vote for Dojo and jQuery mainly because their grid support
are pretty sophisticated and they have a wide variety of other widgets
that can be useful for other projects as well.

Any inputs from Mentors/Students/TG Community members will be
appreciated.

Thanks,

Ming T. Chow
