Exact. That's why I am reducing the scope for 1.1. After all, sane defaults with Genshi and SA are already an achievement by themselves, we also have the new testing framework and Elixir included in the quickstart templates. In the future, 1.5 will support CP3 (done) and ToscaWidgets as its default widget engine. The big work here will be in diverse phases: - remove all traces of TurboGears widgets from the core. - make sure all the widgets and functionalities we had in TG 1.x will be present in TW (same forms, validation, schemas, whatever else we think of) - update documentations to include a TW with tg tutorial (if possible based on the wiki) and link to TW's official docs which begin to be in better shape than a few months back. I think the ToscaWidgets situation has evolved a lot since we last discussed about those dev plans and in the good way. Since the situation has improved a lot I feel really more confident in the TW solution and think it eliminates the alternative we envisioned about maintaining/refactoring old tg widgets. For the toolbox and DBMechanics I think we may have to switch again and go for RUM since Chris Perkins indicated he would himself move to that. It's still an open subject and people are invited to give advice and propose patches. Regarding 1.1 beta1 I have set the release to 28th of August to give time to all contributors to cleanup and close tickets. My original plan was for this week-end but after looking at the tickets and "speaking" with diverse people it seemed more reasonable to postpone a bit. Regarding 1.0.6 I'd like to perform a release tonight since we have some fixes that yearn to be released in the wild. Please raise your opinion on those subject so that the dev plans can be updated with the result.
