We are happy to announce that TurboGears 1.9.7a4 has been released. There are a large number of new enhancements, and fixes in this release, detailed here:
http://trac.turbogears.org/wiki/2.0/changelog Among the most important of these new features are: * Automatic transaction support * Cross database transaction support * New highly customizable template rendering functions * Easier to use configuration object * You no longer have to import request, response, config, etc from pylons (everthing you need is available in tg) * Users nan now to customize every aspect of the response by returning an response object rather than a dictionary. There is likely to be one more alpha release before we stabilize the API an release a 1.9.7 final. Expected activity between now and the next release includes updates to authentication/authorization, better docs, and possibly a few tweaks to the new rendering helper system.
