A little history on this. Elixir was added some time ago because it was requested. Then it was unmaintained and behind a couple of versions until a post was made to this ML asking for someone to volunteer to maintain it, since no one replied it was dropped. And the decision was made that if someone volunteers to maintain it then it should be added back otherwise it shouldn't as it will just go back to being "left behind"
