I would suggest to move to mod_wsgi, I deploy all my tg2 apps under
mod_wsgi and never seen any problem.
Also mod_wsgi has an option to automatically restart the application
if it freezes.

Some time ago I wrote with some other people a TG app to follow
hashtagged discussions filtering retweets and storing permanent
histories. You can use it to follow all the discussion about
