>From what I've seen Firefox uses memory like crazy, especially when you have 10 tabs open (which is very common for me). Plus, listening to music via iTunes, running a MySQL or Postgres db, Apache or Lighttpd, feature-rich text editor, mail client, minimum 3 terminal windows, Photoshop or Gimp, and a little extra for other apps here and there.
