The reason I ask is that you should just store content in the DB and then use Regular Expressions and data structures to insert the formating tags that you want to use after you have read the data from the DB and given it a local instance in your controller.
That is how I see it at least.
That sounds rather overly complex for the sake of storing a paragraph break, quite honestly.
And it really doesn't help me understand why it's being handled inconsistently ( i.e. < is mangled, but > is not).
