Well, I think you're right, Guyon. After re-reading the particularly opaque documentation for joins in SQLObject, I'm pretty certain I've got things backwards.

This will be a real breaking change when I check it in, but it's really wrong the way it currently is.

Unless someone speaks up and explains why it *ISN'T* wrong after all, I'm going to check this fix in tomorrow morning.
