[TurboGears] Kid and javascript

If I have a javascript with a less than, <, Kid transforms this into
&lt; which breaks the javascript. It looks like this is the bug:

I have tried enclosing the javascript with CDATA tags, but < still gets
transformed into &lt;

There must be a lot of people using javascript with Kid anyway, so
there must be a workaround.
Any suggestions?
