I believe that the problem with Paste Deploy integration was
CherryPy's style of cherrypy.root being the root of the application.
This would prevent Paste's middleware and app composition features
from being properly configurable. Since CherryPy 2.2 has is better and
more consistent at being able to manipulate the incoming URL, it may
be possible to create a layer that will make Paste Deploy work
properly.

You may not have seen the thread on this list from when that article
came out... Ruby books may partly be outselling Python books because
there haven't been many worthy new Python books. I hope that the
TurboGears book is a worthy book that helps turn the tide!
