That's orthogonal.  Presumably, json-py is still used for decoding JSON. 
It does a fine job at that.

The advantage that simple_json has for encoding is that it's simpler,
probably faster, and definitely more easily extensible than json-py's
encoder.  The fact that it doesn't currently also decode JSON is
irrelevant.
