You have to open port 8080 in the firewall settings in System

want that to work via Bonjour.

127.0.0.1 will work from your own machine but the bonjour name only
works for opened ports.

Of course then you have to consider whether you want other machines on
the network to be able to access your project.

BTW, where do you turn this off in case you don't want to be on Bonjour
at all?

Oh, I hadn't thought of firewall settings getting in the way.
Intriguing that this worked before.

At the moment, there doesn't appear to be a setting to turn this off.
(This is only in development mode that this runs.)

strange. on my PB, it works regardless of whether the port is open or closed in the firewall, but it is painstakingly slow in Safari. I just measured 75 seconds for a simple page.

Firefox doesn't support Bonjour, but if I open the bonjour-created url (i.e. http://miraculix.local.:8080/) in Firefox, it opens instantly. Dito in Opera. Even if the port is closed.

Huh?
