I'm using TG with sqlite, and don't see any of these problems. Pleas
try to track down this a little more. For example, check that the
data were correctly entered into the database at the first place. Run
your q"tg-admin shell", enter your query and show us the output of
printing the results.
Also, try whether encoding your html as utf-8 makes a difference,
i.e. kid.encoding="utf-8".
Please also report your sqllite and pysqllite versions.
