I wouldn't know. It probably comes as no suprise to anyone that I don't know Apache ;-) I'm just looking at this from a common sense perspective, and "what I would do myself".

OTOH drifting from the Apache way of doing it might confuse some people adopting TG for use on Apache servers. Oh dear, what a toughie. ::dither::

I can't see any real downside to uncommenting those defaults. The
upside is that if we decide to change a default, your application
doesn't change :)

The downside is if a default changes for the better, your app doesn't change either. But that's what mailing lists and commit statements are good for, right?
