Personally, I'd be all about some sans-serif typeface in the headings.

A dark grey would probably look pretty nice in place of the magenta;
with the right typeface and weight, it should still have the right
level of attention without "screaming" so loud.  (Magenta is the new
blink.)  It would maybe help balance out the heavy black of the
download link area.

Overall, I really like it -- even the striped background.  The
blue/gold/white/black/silver/red color mix is really nice; clean and
striking.  I'd definitely stay away from bringing any green back into
the mix, as it seems like it's just throwing in extra color for its
own sake (and reminds me too much of script.aculo.us and friends).

An updated favicon would probably be a good idea too -- maybe a small
version of the new, brighter G gear on a black background to match the
download area on the site (or blue to match the header)?
