I've also tried to copy (by hand the whole template.kid and I'm having the same error. I'm usign kate (kde editor) and it says the file is utf-8, so I don't think the problem is with the editor. There has to be a problem with the way my setup renders <script> sections in tg, but I don't know how to solve it.
