I'm also worried with the use of "[" and "]" in the name. It might be special somewhere (in shell it is, for example) and this might cause hidden troubles. I believe that the "exp" was intentional and means "experimental". This feature is yet in development and might later migrate back to TG or to some specific package without the "exp" suffix.
