Hi,

well. I don't know, if this is good or bad... ;-)

"The ... boilerplate ... is licensed und an MIT-style license". Great.
Now, if I start developing code on top of this and want to release
the result as (MIT style) open source, I don't have a problem except
one: whose name to put in the copyright notice. Turbogears' license
says "Copyright (c) 2005 Kevin Dangoor and contributors" and has a
contributors file. Should I put something like that in my project as
well, additionalle to my own name? I mean, the project contains
boilerplate code that comes under a (MIT style) license which states
"The above copyright notice and this permission notice shall be included
in all copies or substantial portions of the Software."

Now, it all comes down to: Is the boilerplate code considered as
"substantial portions"? The following statement ...

... may be interpreted as "no".

While we're at it: How about the 20 minutes wiki. I'd like to build a
project on top of that code. The same questions apply here...

I'm sorry. I really am not a lawyer, more of a law hobbyist. But at the
moment I'm working on the really-new-and-better-than-anything-around[tm]
wiki parser which translates wiki text into an ElementTree instance
(very much *not* ready at http://developer.berlios.de/projects/fellowiki
-> svn). So, my real questions will start, when I start to embed this
into the TG application, which is still only in planning stage...

Cheers,
