Hey Robert, Thanx for your reply, this is exactly what I needed. It's getting a bit confusing to find the right documentation, I probably should've posted this at the cherrypy group to begin with. But as you say, hopefully other programmers will find this thread, and don't have to ask it anymore.
To help improve, I'll write a small howto (end of this week) and post it in the trac wiki.
